The Redbreeds, a family of Catacorns, narrowly escape an attack by a group of nomads, called Ahmerogns. They chase the Catacorns across the mountains to a new valley, and enslave them. The Redbreed children escape, and seek help. Their individual adventures lead them to new peoples and places. The Catacorns and their friends band together to defeat the Ahmerogns.
